According to the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), a new directive on mandatory sustainability reporting for companies will come into effect from January 1, 2024 .
Who is required to report?
Companies on the stock market, banks and insurance companies with > 500 employees (NFRD-obligated companies)
All other large companies under accounting law (2 of the 3 criteria : > 250 employees, > 20 million balance sheet total, > 40 million turnover)
Capital market-oriented SMEs, provided they do not make use of the option of deferring until 2028
