No place has shaped uRyde so much!
For uRyde, the metropolitan region of Nuremberg is more than just home. It serves as a prime example for the implementation of our vision of a new, sustainable mobility. In May 2022, uRyde started here with a consortium of partners. Since then, the partner and user field has grown steadily, so we can proudly say that we give over 170,000 people in the region access to innovation and sustainable mobility solutions. Starting with ridesharing, we now also offer mobility monitors, a mobility budget and shuttle bus integration - parking management will follow soon. In this way, we are able to live up to our claim of a holistic approach piece by piece.
history of mobility
The metropolitan region of Nuremberg has always been a center of innovative mobility. As early as 1835, the Adler was the first German locomotive to travel between Nuremberg and FΓΌrth. Today, the Verkehrsverbund GroΓraum NΓΌrnberg (VGN) is the second largest of its kind in Germany and includes regional trains, S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains, trams and buses.
The citizens of the city of Nuremberg alone own around 250,000 cars, plus all the other cities and communities in the metropolitan region. uRyde ridesharing significantly improves the utilization of these by accommodating a larger number of travelers in one vehicle. More mobility with less traffic.
education and economy
There are 20 colleges and universities for around 3.5 million inhabitants, the two largest of which - the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Technical University of Nuremberg Georg Simon Ohm - are already uRyde partners. There are around 150,000 companies that give the region a medium-sized character in particular. However, large corporations are not uncommon: For example, the two sporting goods manufacturers based in Herzogenaurach, adidas and Puma, as well as the world's largest Siemens location in Erlangen, have long relied on uRyde.
